Gravity

You will agree to the limitations of where this will go –

But then I will introduce you to new ways of thinking,

Teach you new ways of living

I’ll take you places you have never been

Make memories with you that you can never forget

Educate you on topics you weren’t aware mattered

Show you how to challenge yourself

In ways you couldn’t have ever imagined

Inspire you far more than anyone has before

I’ll find poetry in all of our late night rendezvous

And you’ll paint the walls of your mind with your recent obsession:

Me.

You’ll plan a future assuming that I’ll still be around

Because I helped change you

Not realizing I only did it for self gain

This arrangement would not have excelled had you stayed the same

And just when you are so self-assured that this is it

Because you think you know where you stand with me

I’ll pull the rug from underneath you

And watch you fall in love with me
